Senator Marsha Blackburn Endorses Senate Candidate Bernie Moreno, Explains Push for the Epstein Flight Logs

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) joined Wednesday’s edition of Outside the Beltway with John Fredericks to discuss her endorsement of Ohio U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno and her continued push to release Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane flight logs.

Fredericks kicked off the interview by getting Blackburn’s reaction to former President Donald Trump’s victory in Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary race, to which the senator said, “It is time for Nikki Haley to leave this race…The Republican party needs to unify and we need to turn our attention to defeating Biden and the Democrats.”

“We’ve got some great opportunities for Senate seat pickups, we need to make certain we hold the House, we need to hang onto governorships, we need to win these state house and state senate races, and the Republican party is going to have to come together and unify behind our nominee and make certain that we roll to victory in November. We have a country to save to get back on the right track,” Blackburn added.

The Tennessee senator continued by announcing her endorsement of Moreno in the Ohio U.S. Senate primary race, calling him a “good, solid conservative.”

Moreno, along with primary GOP challengers State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, are vying to unseat incumbent Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), who has held the seat since 2007.

Pivoting to her work on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Fredericks asked Blackburn to explain her multiple subpoenas – all of which have been shot down by Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) – to Epstein’s estate to provide the flight logs for his private plane.

Blackburn said her subpoena requests are part of her work as the top Republican on the Human Rights Subcommittee in regards to “fighting human trafficking, fighting back on sex trafficking, and looking how we break these rings apart because of what they are doing to women and children.”

Noting how the human trafficking industry has grown to a $150 billion/year business, Blackburn said Epstein “had a global sex trafficking ring” and it “needs to be known who was involved with him and the extent of that involvement.”

“We need to establish some of this so we can get to the bottom of these rings, bring these people to trial, and get justice for these victims whose lives have been ruined, in many instances, by these traffickers,” Blackburn added.
